I'm posting this for BOB sponsor Ray Peabody, publisher of Midwest Motorcyclist. Ray says he doesn't know the broker or the seller, but he thought our members might be interested.

Sale of Triumph TRW collection |
Message: |
My name is Randy Haggett and I am brokering the sale of 17 1957 and one 1956 Triumph TRW 500cc army bikes for a close friend.
Pictures of all bikes and spares are available upon request.
For sale is possibly the world's largest private collection of 1957 Triumph TRW motorcycles. The collection includes 17 1957 TRWs and 1 1956 TRW.
All bikes have matching engine and frame numbers. Most are restored from ground up; several are original; and several are for restoration.
Also included in the sale are 2 TRW engines (one still in crate) and a great number of spare parts.
Collection to be sold as a set, and buyer is responsible for shipping.
The seller is asking $90,000.00 for the entire lot, including all spares. |
The Canadian military was a major customer for Triumph's TRW (sidevalve 500 twin; all had nacelles and were shipped with steel pannier carriers). Dead reliable but don't expect Tiger 100 performance; the TRW is a tortoise, not a hare. You could start your own army Motor Pool with this collection! --Lindsay Brooke
