I want to purchase a "Pedal" for my kick starter.

I think I hurt my foot wearing cheap shoes & kick starting my motorcycle.

A pedal would me more ergonomic for my foot etc.

"Low Brow" sells them (Brass & made in USA) for about a hundred dollars, which seems expensive?

I read online that ones made in China are likely to break? 

I guess that I am getting old - My foot could take the punishment when I was younger.

Please let me know If you have any advice.

I have experienced the same thing: my foot hurt like hell after starting the bike.

I realized I was wearing boat/dock shoes....... 

When I wear proper footwear - boots - I never have a problem.  Your issue may not be the kick start pedal but footwear.
